Compatibility in context

BaZi Compatibility for Marriage

Long-term relationships accumulate practical realities: shared money, household labor, family expectations, health, conflict and repair. BaZi can organize a conversation about different patterns, but it cannot certify a marriage or predict whether a commitment will last.

Direct answer

Marriage compatibility should be evaluated through both charts and through the relationship itself. Use Day Master relations, mutual Ten Gods and branch interactions to ask better questions; use evidence, consent and shared agreements to make actual decisions.

Chart facts and real-world questions

Keep the two layers separate

01

Mutual support and control

Structural fact. The Day Master relation names one of five structural directions, including generating and controlling.

Real-world question. “Control” in the chart is not permission to control a partner. Discuss how decisions, influence and responsibility are shared in daily life.

02

Role expectations

Structural fact. Mutual Ten Gods organize how each chart sees the other Day Master through fixed relationship categories.

Real-world question. Ask whether expectations about care, money, career and family have been stated rather than assumed from a role.

03

Branch interactions

Structural fact. Six harmony and six clash describe fixed branch pairings at matching available positions.

Real-world question. Use them to discuss recurring friction or cooperation patterns, never to forecast divorce or guarantee stability.

04

Uncertainty

Structural fact. Unknown times, boundary dates and different rule profiles can alter one or both charts.

Real-world question. If a conclusion disappears when a time assumption changes, treat it as unresolved rather than using the most dramatic version.

Conversation guide

Questions worth asking directly

These questions concern observable behavior, agreements and safety. They are more useful than trying to infer another person’s character from one symbolic placement.

  • 1.How will money, work, care and household responsibility be shared and reviewed?
  • 2.What does each person need during conflict, and what behavior is never acceptable?
  • 3.Which family or cultural expectations are being treated as automatic?
  • 4.How will major decisions be made when preferences conflict?

A grounded process

From comparison to evidence

01

Separate interpretation from agreement

A chart theme can start a conversation. Only an explicit shared agreement can define how the relationship will operate.

02

Review practical systems

Look at budgets, calendars, care work and decision rights. These systems produce better evidence than symbolic labels.

03

Use support when needed

For coercion, violence, financial control or safety concerns, use appropriate real-world support. A compatibility reading is not safety advice.

Hard boundaries

  • · No BaZi pairing guarantees marriage, happiness, fertility, fidelity or separation.
  • · A chart cannot establish whether a partner is honest or safe.
  • · A low or missing interaction is not a hidden relationship score.

Reflection

Which long-term agreement needs evidence and explicit mutual consent, rather than a symbolic interpretation of compatibility?
